Monuments on Wawel Hill of Krakow

Posted 1 year ago by posteye in response to avatar marcel's question: What are the treasure troves settled on Krakow's Wawel Hill? (give a different answer) .

First, there's the Royal Palace, towering above the Vistula River, and a monarch residence for more than 500 years (up to the moment Warsaw was declared capital of Poland). Although the Nazis ransacked the place by setting their WW II headquarter here, it's still a symbol of Polish kingdom, having the rare tapestries, Baroque furniture, gilded ceilings as proof. The other attraction is Pope's John Paul II seat, a cathedral where he preched while archbishop.
